No credit car loans
Financing a first car with no credit history: what lenders weigh, what to bring and how to apply.
Marketing Director | Bud Clary Auto Group
Dustin Schuler runs marketing for Bud Clary Auto Group. He's worked on his own cars since high school, where he earned college credits and worked toward an ASE certification, and he still does his own wrenching.

Dustin leads marketing for Bud Clary Auto Group, the third-generation, family-owned dealer group behind 14 franchise stores in five Washington cities. A decade at Bud Clary has put him to work with Ford, Chevrolet, Subaru, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram.
He has been hooked on cars since early childhood, and he learned to drive a manual transmission in a Mercedes-Benz 240D. He left high school holding a certificate of work readiness and AYES and NATEF certifications, along with college credits he earned while working toward an ASE certification.
These days he drives three very different machines: a Chevy Silverado 1500 running mid-travel suspension, a Nissan 370Z for drifting, and his favorite of the three, an Audi A6 TDI that pairs all-wheel drive with a large single turbo. He has upgraded and replaced that turbo three times on the way to nearly 200,000 miles, doing every job himself. Programming a key fob is the only work another mechanic has ever done on one of his cars.
Every guide he writes aims to answer a shopper's question as plainly as he would for a friend.
Toyota is one of the 11 brands Dustin has worked across in his decade with Bud Clary, and Bud Clary Toyota of Moses Lake is the group's Toyota store in Moses Lake, at 12056 N Frontage Rd East. The store serves drivers across the Columbia Basin, from Moses Lake, Ephrata, Quincy and Othello out to Wenatchee and the Tri-Cities, and his guides for this site are written with them in mind.
His first two guides here cover what comes up when someone is new to owning a Toyota. One walks through financing a first car with no credit history: what lenders weigh when there is no score, what to bring, and how the store's credit application works. The other sets out ToyotaCare in Toyota's current terms, including the 1-year or 10,000-mile plan on most 2027 models, and the mileage window for adding ToyotaCare Plus, which matters for drivers who rack up long stretches between Basin towns.
Each guide links to Toyota's, Washington's or the federal government's own pages for the facts it states, so readers can check them, and each one ends with a direct way to reach the store: the credit application, the service scheduler or a call to (509) 765-4517.
Both guides carry his byline and the date he last reviewed them.
